From the brand

  2. From farm to backyard, we create gardening equipment that lasts. We saw home growers stuck buying flimsy tools that couldn't handle real growing conditions.

So we built professional-grade equipment at prices that work for serious gardeners. We test everything in working gardens - if it's not tough enough for daily use, we won't sell it. Simple as that.

  3. How did we get our start?

We started small in 2016, creating the first tough seed trays on the market. Today, we help thousands of home growers. We're still family-owned and proudly manufacture our signature designs in America.

    What makes our products unique?

We build tools that last. Every product goes through farm testing because all gardeners deserve equipment that won't break.

Why do we love what we do?

Helping growers succeed is our passion - from backyard gardeners to commercial farms. As farmers, we know quality tools make all the difference.

  5. Seedlings growing in a 4-cell air pruning cell tray gardening insert

  7. Pepper plants sitting out in the garden to harden off before they're transplanted in the ground
  8. Two plants side-by-side in 5" pots in the fall labeled and ready for an overwintering experiment

Product Description

Designed by Bootstrap Farmer these seed cell tray inserts are guaranteed for years of use. We decided to produce these 6 cell trays for our farm based off of our own dissatisfaction with the flimsy quality of the other tray inserts. Our seed trays are a great way to grow a variety of crops in a single 1020 tray. Our seedling inserts are made out of food safe, BPA free polypropylene plastic. They can withstand even the harshest of growing environments! We produced these plant cell inserts after growing tired of wasting our money on buying new seed trays after every planting. These plug trays will allow you to stop throwing your money directly in the landfill each year. Each cell is 1.5" x 1.5" and fits 12 inserts into a standard 1020 flat tray. Bootstrap Farmer was founded in 2015 as a key part in creating a new food future by providing products that will last for years to come. Better products means less in the landfill. Beyond reusable products, we’re creating this future through the entrepreneurship applied in the Urban Farm Academy. The Urban Farm Academy is a network of farmers evolving agriculture by fusing community, health, education & food. We’re bootstrapping the food revolution and we hope you’ll join us.
